Rug Cleaning in West Asheville

Collection and delivery in West Asheville are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.

The Houses

What West Asheville is built from

Across the French Broad from downtown, strung along the Haywood Road spine, with Malvern Hills and Sulphur Springs behind it. Small frame houses and bungalows on tight lots, a lot of them worked over hard in the last fifteen years, and some of the busiest floor traffic in the city.

Younger households, families, dogs, and rugs that are being used rather than preserved — wool and hand-tufted in roughly equal measure, with a fair number of good pieces bought secondhand.

What We Find Here

The West Asheville problem

This side of the river is the grit-and-pets neighborhood. Yards are small and often bare under trees, drives are gravel more often than not, and the soil off a mountain slope is not soft dust — it is angular, mica-flecked and hard, and it works down through the pile to sit against the knots where every footstep grinds it into the fibre. A vacuum lifts the surface and leaves the part that is doing the cutting exactly where it is, which is why a rug here thins out from underneath while still looking clean from above. Pet accidents are the other half. Urine salts stay in the foundation, pull moisture back out of damp mountain air every time it climbs, and burn dye if they are left long enough.

If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
